The similarly sized and priced Renault Fluence, 2.0 and 140hp with both CVT and manual options.
I probably wouldn't because french beige is still boring beige. I'd get a C5 (so I did)

That literally is more boring that the three cars you listed. France, I am disappoint.

I'd buy a Mazda 3 or Cruze over any of them.

How about 180hp Turbo manual?
![]() 11/03/2014 at 14:40 |

Agreed

Mazda3 can be had with a 185 horsepower engine. With a manual.

Your title implies I would buy a Civic, Corolla or Sentra.
![]() 11/03/2014 at 14:44 |

If it's a Renault, there is probably some Sentra in there somewhere anyway.

Renault sell CVTs?
As it happens you can get a Fluence, a Corolla and a Civic in Ireland and yes, people buy Fluences. They buy rather more Fluences than they do Civics because they're Hondas and hardly anyone buys those any more. The Corolla however is about three times as popular as the Fluence.
So there you have it. In answer to your question: yes, some do.

The Renault what? Renault Flatulence?

Mazda takes the win

Mazda3 or Ford Focus are the only non-hot cheapish family cars that I would consider buying.

Same here in Brazil, I just can't figure out why

If you had a gun pointed at your head

Now get that French Corolla out of here!
![]() 11/03/2014 at 14:50 |

Yeah, it shares the same base with the B16 Sentra, the one from 2007.

Yeah, I thought the way that the C pillar curves into the rear flanks looked awfully familiar.

Oppo answer. I'd go for the Megane estate. Have a brown diesel manual estate.
with a Megane RS for the weekend.
![]() 11/03/2014 at 14:53 |

Nope. I would, however, have a Megane over any of the above. (Admittedly though, it still wouldn't be my first choice in the segment.)

No Laguna?
![]() 11/03/2014 at 14:55 |

Mine either, I just don't understand why people buy that car

Not sold where he is!

I'm not a fan of the Laguna, old, current or next one. The Megane is the only one in the current line up I like. I used to clean a friend's third gen Megane and it was a pleasure to work with. I also liked the second gen Twingo before it got the Juke facelift as it was a nippy little car.

Just noticed now you say it. I see some of the old Lagunas about but never see any newer ones. I guess Renault is not something I've really taken much notice of lately.

Yes, Renault had a cull a couple of years back. The Wind (no, me neither) made its exit at the same time.
![]() 11/03/2014 at 15:39 |

The Wind was an oddity (there are two (one a Gordini) just a short distance away from where I live), a coupe/roadster from a Twingo.

If I could have it in the United States with manual Hell yeah!

I would not buy this Fluence. It's a sedan, which is an ill choice for a body style in this segment. Moreover, in my country where Renault is very common the Fluence isn't even offered. Is it a South American market car?
Anyway, I would get a Megane over a Corolla or Sentra. If we're talking about the new European Civic I might pick that, I'm not sure. However, in this segment I'd prefer something from an other manufacturer, like the Peugeot 308 or if I'm bold even the Mazda 3.

201hp with a manual...
No point really, on my part.

These are pretty popular in Korea where its sold as the Renault-Samsung SM3. Buying Japanese brands are unreasonably expensive over there.

I've seen a few Fluences running around where I live, but they're all electric.
